The email should:

* List the user name you want

:User names follow the same rules as article names: they always start with a capital letter, and medial spaces are allowed eg. [[User:Ashley Y]]

:We follow the same rules as to what is an appropriate or inappropriate username as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Username#Appropriate_usernames Wikipedia]

* Email ''1'' person at a time

:This is to avoid coordination problems

* ''Do not'' include the password you want in the email

: The account creator will make up a password & you must then change it after logging in.

* Have a useful Subject: like 'HaskellWiki account request'

* We give accounts to all humans

: It is unnecessary to justify your request.

New account creation has been re-enabled, hopefully we'll be spared spammers. —Ashley Y 17:41, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

New account creation has been disabled again. Despite CAPTCHAs we get a lot of spam again. I'm trying to move to a scheme where accounts can be created by anyone but need to be approved by a human. In the mean time, the login page lists whom to email to get an account. —Nominolo 22 September 2012.
