ICFP 2009 Local Arrangements

Venue

The conference venue is the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

Accommodation

We have arranged for hotel accommodation to be reserved through the Edinburgh Convention Bureau. Follow this link for a description of the accommodation and a link to the booking form.

We recommend early booking, since the conference dates overlap with those of the Edinburgh Festival. For those on a tight budget, Edinburgh also has a variety of hostel and bed/breakfast accommodation, but this must be booked privately.

Edinburgh Festival

• 14 August—6 September 2009 Edinburgh International Festival
• 7—31 August 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
• 15—31 August 2009 Edinburgh International Book Festival

There will be a spectacular Fireworks display on 31 August 2009 from 21:00. It will be visible from many parts of the city. You can get a good view from Princes Street (which will be closed to traffic), but arrive early, since there will be many thousands of other revellers, and the police control the access!
