If you saw it in the context of OpenGL, then it must be
Data.StateVar.($=)  from the StateVar package  -- see the
examples on the top of . By the way, StateVar is a nice package
that isn't tied to OpenGL at all and is used, for example, by the
Hipmunk package as well .
