If anyone is wondering why we keep getting these bogus failures, let's
just say we're regretting the choice to deploy Linux 2.2 as an NFS
server :-)  We're planning to re-install with a 2.4-based system shortly
(2.4 is a lot more reliable serving NFS according to our testing).
