Progress towards 5.02

5.02 is still in a holding pattern.  We had hoped to make a new=20
stable branch sometime on Weds this week just ended, but that didn't
happen because we were still fixing bugs and committing at too fast
a rate.

5.02 is stabilising nicely, and I'm quite pleased with the results
even though progress has been slower than expected.  Hopefully we'll
branch the tree on Tues or Weds next week, at which point=20
the feature freeze will be over.  So, until then, please don't commit
anything major over the weekend.  If at all possible, don't commit
anything. =20
