Certainly. The HaXml library will be bundled with the next release
of nhc98, and to have it also bundled with Hugs (and maybe even ghc)
would be great. But I am not intending that any compiler distribution
should necessarily build nor install the HaXml tools (DtdToHaskell,
Validate, Xtract, etc). There will continue to be bugfix releases of
HaXml on a separate timetable from the compilers, and in time I may
even split the library and tools into separate distribution packages.
However, I am unable to comprehend the fptools build system adequately
enough to plumb HaXml into the nightly builds of Hugs or ghc, so
others should feel free to attempt that...
