    Remove some antiquated C constructs
    
    Fixes validate on amd64/Linux with:
    
    SRC_CC_OPTS += -Wmissing-parameter-type
    SRC_CC_OPTS += -Wold-style-declaration
    SRC_CC_OPTS += -Wold-style-definition
