Why does the base package depend on iconv only on macs? iconv is not
needed under linux or solaris (unless you install haskeline, which is
not in the platform.
omitting iconv results in:
"_locale_charset", referenced from:
_localeEncoding in libHSbase-184.108.40.206.a(PrelIOUtils.o)
"_iconv_close", referenced from:
_hs_iconv_close in libHSbase-220.127.116.11.a(iconv.o)
(maybe you meant: _hs_iconv_close)
"_iconv", referenced from:
_hs_iconv in libHSbase-18.104.22.168.a(iconv.o)
(maybe you meant: _hs_iconv_open, _hs_iconv , _hs_iconv_close )
"_iconv_open", referenced from:
_hs_iconv_open in libHSbase-22.214.171.124.a(iconv.o)
(maybe you meant: _hs_iconv_open)
