I seems you used my binary dist that I made with a modified
utils/hsc2hs/Main.hs

hsc2hs only worked for me when gcc was used instead ghc (when
bootstrapping ghc-6.8.2 itself). Maybe I should build new binary-dists.
Is it for ppc or x86?
