I also thought haddock should be an easy build, but it just won't do it.<br>
/home2/<user>/garden/haddock-0.8> runhaskell ./Setup.lhs
install<br>
Installing: --prefix=~/cabal/lib/haddock-0.8/ghc-6.4 &<br>
--prefix=~/cabal/bin haddock-0.8...<br>
Then it stopped and nothing got done. (I even checked rc=0 but the<br>
lib/bin dir does not have trace of haddock!)<br>

I don't think haddock "has" to depend on lamdbabot. But I saw
"Skipping<br>
HaddockHoogle" during the build. Isn't the Hoogle thing related to<br>
Lambdabot? Or they are unrelated.<br>

Again being new to the Haskell world (only a few months), I am not an<br>
expert on what depends on what. It would be nice to have a "type system"<br>
to check the dependency of the many packages. Perl CPAN does a good job<br>
on this.<br>

Hi,<br>
I have been hacking the Haskell installation a few days on Redhat Linux.<br>
GHC 6.6 -> 6.6.1 -> Lambdabot does not work.<br>
Downgrade to GHC 6.4 -> Still not working, tried cabal-install to<br>
simplify my life, but no luck.<br>
Then install Cabal, Haddock -> Haddock cannot install bc Lambdabot
is<br>
not there. (And some dependency issues.)<br>
Remove .ghci, Haddock still not work.<br>
<br>
It seems the Haskell world (outside the beautiful GHC) is in a recursive<br>
non-functional blackhole.<br>
<br>
Anyway, now my question is, how do I thoroughly clean up Haskell? (And<br>
maybe try again after a few days of rest.)<br>
<br>
My environment is Redhat Linux, install most stuff on<br>
/home/<user>/<product>/ where <product> = GHC, Lambdabot,
cabal,<br>
haddock, etc. It seems there are some hidden files/dirs, .GHC, .ghci,<br>
anything else?<br>
