are you tried to aks their authors? :)  i never really supported
Compression library because there are no user requests. really, i
evolve it as a part of my app (http://www.haskell.org/bz/FreeArc-sources.tar.gz)
and it definitely compiled on my box with 6.4 and 6.6.
i use mingw, though
