Keep in mind that NumLock is a PC-ism; Macs don't have it (and mod2 
defaults to being the Cmd key in
X11.app), nor do virtual X servers such as Xvnc or Xephyr (in Xvnc, at 
least, mod2 is unassigned).  (This would
also apply to SPARC Sun workstations, but as the number of those 
running Solaris 10 is minuscule and earlier OS
releases are not GHC-friendly this is probably not relevant in practice.)
