Comment:

 Two ways I can think of: adding AVX instrinsics/primops or using LLVM's
 autovectorizer.

 I think the LLVM backend should skip the assembler step when it can emit
 object files directly (llc -filetype=obj with LLVM 3.0+?) and no asm
 munging is required. Likewise for C or C++ files.
